The conversion compensation of up to 25% of price of the fourth-generation telecommunications licenses for releasing frequencies of 2600 MHz is considered reasonable by the “Big Three”, as the Interfax informs.
Let us recall that the “MMDS Ukraine” is part of the “System Capital Management”.
“I believe that the frequencies of 2600 MHz are very important for operators, and they should come back to circulation in some way. If this is the only way to get them back, so let it be so”, as communicated by Peter Chernyshov, CEO at “Kyivstar”.
The fact whether “Kyivstar” bids for the tender, was not disclosed by the Company’s CEO, stating that the tender terms were not made public yet.
Olga Ustinova, CEO at Vodafone, is not sure as well that the company would compete in that tender.
“The first case already referred to 3G, when buying frequencies, and it was exactly the same price for the military frequencies conversion. And it is about the same amount of 25%, so I think everything is quite logical. The only thing to check is, whether it is a real conversion, and what the scope of work to release frequencies is. Everyone has different business, different number of subscribers and equipment, and it can cost differently”, as Mrs. Ustinova said.
“Everything depends on the terms, which are actually under discussion. But we will take part in all developments of 4G and 5G, if the terms are adequate”, as added, in turn, by the CEO of Lifecell Burak Ersoy.
