Leading online cinema of Ukraine, Baltic and CIS countries Megogo became the member of Telecommunication Chamber of Ukraine, which includes such a big providers as Viasat and Volia.
Association Telecommunication Chamber of Ukraine – non-profitable union of companies engaged in Pay TV market. Its goal is to develop telecommunication services and to protect its members.
MEGOGO – multiscreen service and the first legal online cinema in CIS countries. It started in November 2011, now it is available in countries all over the world. Its audience reaches 32 mln. visitors, the catalogue includes more than 75 000 videos.
Ivan Shestakov, marketing director of Megogo, said: “TCU purposes are to make basis for predictableness of Ukrainian legislation and improve new system of industry regulation”.
TCU members share Shestakov’s opinion.
President of Volia Sergey Boyko considers unequal conditions for providers to be one of the most essential problems as well as piracy. “These are the reasons to unite for struggling against corruption” he said.
Oksana Ferchuk, director of Viasat Ukraine, also confirmed that operators should have joined their efforts against piracy and cable providers underreporting about real number of subscribers.
The goals of TCU for 2015 are the following:
1. To cancel license procedure for providing Pay TV services.
2. To legalize adult content.
3. The equal conditions for all providers regardless technology of signal delivery they use.
4. To increase legal subscribers number on account of reducing the number of users of illegal content.
Association is going to take part in telecom events, such as KievMediaWeek and Telco Trends and will be easy to press contacts.
