In Belarus, a number of operators got caught for the broadcasting of erotica without coding

Twelve cable operators working in the regional market of Belarus received a warning from the relevant ministry.
The Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus issued a warnings to 12 companies: “Brestoblgarant”, “TVSAT”, “Mir-TV”, “Efir-TV”, “Sfera TV”,” NORD “,” Svet”, “Tsyfra”, “Garant television communal services”, “Jam TV”, “Electrosvyaz” and” SAT-TV” in the course of routine inspections of cable operators in the Brest and Minsk regions, as well as in Mogilev.
As it was noted on the official website of the Ministry of Information, operators monitoring was held in June-July of this year. During the inspection, the following violations were identified:
· these companies were broadcasting erotic channels in their networks in the public access, inspite of under the laws of Belarus such programs should be shown using a conditional access systems only;
· cable operators were broadcasting foreign TV channels without authorization on the territory of the Republic of Belarus;
· some operators have excluded from their networks some programs included to the compulsory public package approved by the Council of Ministers No. 407 of May 13, 2015;
· operators have made a number of changes to the list of retransmitted TV programs without notifying the Ministry.
In connection with the identified violations, the Ministry of Information decided to issue a written warnings. If such offenses will be detected again, the Ministry promises to exclude these operators from the State Register of distributors broadcasting media products. Furthermore, it may entail administrative responsibility for the management of offending operators
