The Vodafone Company (“MTS Ukraine”) holds up on buying 3G-operator “Trimob”, owned by the “Ukrtelecom”, as Interfax informs.

“It was decided to withdraw documents due to the lacking approval of the State Property Fund. If something changes, we do not rule out reverting to the matter”, as the Vodafone’ press office stated.

The “Ukrtelecom”, in turn, confirmed its interest in selling assets, and that its offer would remain in force, however, declining to comment on the “MTS Ukraine”’s decision.

Let us recall that the decision to buy the operator “Trimob” was announced by Vodafone as far back as in January of present year. In October, the purchase deal was postponed by the Antimonopoly Committee, but still remaining in force. 3G-operator “Trimob” was estimated at about UAH 3 billion and had a subscriber base exceeding 900 thousand people.

For the time being, the Cabinet of Ministers is about to decide whether to form an interdepartmental working group to check the observance of contract’s terms in the deal of the companies “ESU” and “Ukrtelecom”. The resolution for that inspection was issued by the State Property Fund, but the Cabinet of Ministers postponed the consideration of the deal.
