Kyivstar, Vodafone and lifecell Start Blocking Access to Russian Web Resources

The telecom operators Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell initiate technical arrangements to restrict services of providing access to the resources of Russian companies put on the sanctions list. This is stated in the operators’ joint press release, a copy of which is available to the Mediasat.

“We would like to inform you that, starting today, the Presidential Decree № 133/2017 of 15 May 2017 “On the Application of Personal Special Economic and Other Restrictive Measures (Sanctions)” came into force”. According to this Decree, the telecom operators are required to suspend providing access to a number of web resources, including social networks “VKontakte”, “Odnoklassniki”, all services of Yandex and mail.ru, and others. In pursuance of the requirements of the Decree, as of today, the telecom operators start technical arrangements to restrict services of providing access to the above web sites”, as the statement says.
