In the spring of next year, Ukrainian media groups will encrypt the signal of TV channels broadcasting via satellite. This is featured by LIGA.net.

According to the edition, 23 national TV channels, incorporated into the four largest TV holdings (1+1 Media, StarLightMedia, Inter Media Group and Media Group Ukraine), came to a mutual agreement to encrypt satellite signal.

It is reported that the “Inter” Group of Channels was not prepared for satellite channels encryption before, but today, at once several insiders assure that the Holding has decided to join the initiative and still enable encryption on its channels.

It is expected that after that encryption, the channels of media groups would integrate into satellite pay-TV operators XtraTV and Viasat Ukraine. As a conditional access system (encryption), there would most likely be applied the cardless Verimatrix system.
