In the course of technical radiomonitoring measures the experts of the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) detected several illegally operating devices in the micro district Bortnichi (Kiev), as the company’s press office informs.
According to the specific interaction procedure for structural subdivisions of NCCIR, law enforcement authorities and UCRF while detecting and eliminating violations of radio frequency resource laws, there was formed a task force.
On May, 28 the team of the task force took measures within its competence to shut down 9 illegally operating devices 9, installed on the roof of a multistoried building. As it turned out, the entrepreneurs provided illegal Internet services to local residents by means of those radioelectronic facilities.
After investigating the locality the task force identified a number of owners of illegally operating radioelectronic facilities (REF).
The operation of illegal devices was shut down. As for the citizens engaged in illegal activities, there were drawn up reports pursuant to part 1 of article 146 of the Code of Administrative Offences. They were also subjected to explanatory work on their obligation to observe the Law of Ukraine on Ukrainian Radio Frequency Resource and the requirement to obtain authorizations from UCRF for REF using.
The Coordination Commission for Preventing, Detecting and Eliminating Violations of Communications Laws reminds to the citizens about the requirement of checking the Internet providers’ authorizations for installing and using radioelectronic facilities before contracting them for the provision of respective services.
