Ukrtelecom is planning to invest UAH 400 million to laying out a fiber optic lines in Dnipro 500 thousand km long, as well as to the replacement of network equipment. This was reported by Ukrainian News.
As it is known, laying out a fiber-optic lines in Dnipro is planned to be done using Fiber to the Curb technology. A quarter of the declared amount is planned to be invested in the current year.
It is planned to replace 97 old ATSs that serve Dnipro with 460 cabinets manufactured by Huawei. Optical cables from the transport network will be pulled to them.
When the process of modernization will be finished, the city will have new opportunities. Digital telephony, Internet access at speeds up to 50 Mbit/s, interactive TV and the possibility of a personal connection to the Internet at speeds of 1 Gbit/s will be available then.
In general, Ukrtelecom is planning to spend USD 50 million on upgrades in 2016.
