The mobile number portability (MNP) becomes materialized for mobile users in Ukraine.

Over the next few months, the Ukrainian mobile subscribers will get a chance to move from one operator to another, without losing their number. This is reported by the “Novoye Vremya”, quoting the Executive Director of the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF) Vadym Gulko.

According to him, the Kyiv Economic Court of Appeal unlocked MNP implementation, affirming the decision of the first-instance court.

Thus, the Court acknowledged the legality of the contract between the company “SI Center” and UCRF, which won the tender for launching MNP in Ukraine.

However, Vadym Gulko does not rule out subsequent litigations, but he does not believe that they would affect the implementation of new service in Ukraine and would slow down MNP launching.

The Executive Director of UCRF is confident that this year, the Ukrainians, will be able to try the migration between mobile operators retaining their number, at least in a test mode.
