The National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine made changes to the must-carry list (UPU), adding to it “UΛ: Crimea”, the Crimean branch of the National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine (NSTU). This is stated on the regulatory authority’s website.
The reason for adopting that decision was the request of the Chairman of the Board of NSTU Zurab Alasania.
The Member of the National Broadcasting Council Sergey Kostinsky remarked that the decision would allow for broadcasting the Crimean TV channel in all cable networks of Ukraine without any exception.
Zurab Alasania, in turn, stated that the request was submitted to the National Broadcasting Council as the public broadcaster’s civic position.
“This is what the public broadcaster is ready for and able to do on the Crimean Tatar Genocide Remembrance Day”, as Mr.Alasania summed up.
Let us recall that “UΛ: Crimea” started satellite broadcasting in January this year.
