TV viewers who desire watching the largest Ukrainian channels via satellite will have to pay a subscription fee of some 50 hryvnias per month. This is featured by LIGA.net.
According to the information announced by Yaroslav Pakholchuk, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Director of the Pay TV at “1+1 Media”, the price for the package, which will incorporate TV channels of the Ukrainian largest media groups, will be 45-55 hryvnias.
This forecast is seconded by Fedor Grechaninov, Director for Strategic Development at StarLightMedia, who estimates this package at 50 hryvnias.
It was reported before that 23 national TV channels, incorporated into the four largest TV holdings (1+1 Media, StarLightMedia, Inter Media Group and Media Group Ukraine), came to a mutual agreement to encrypt satellite signal.
Sergei Kostinsky, Member of the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine, expressed his opinion regarding the satellite signal encryption by Ukrainian channels, outlining all pros and cons of that decision.
Today, according to various estimates, some 4.5 million households enjoy satellite TV services in Ukraine.
