Analogue television was switched off in Belarus

On May 15 the switch-off of analogue television took place in the Republic of Belarus. Ten remaining transmitters which have provided analogue television broadcasting for Belarusian citizens as well as the main RTTS (Radio and Television Transmitting Station) in Kolodischi ceased to broadcast.
Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Belarus informed, that terrestrial network of digital TV of the country comprises 84 digital transmitters, covering almost all the regions. For the citizens of the Russian Federation it provides compulsory free-of-charge transmission of 8 TV and 1 radio programme.
Let us remind, that the first switch-off of Belarusian analogue television took place on 1 August, 2013 in Osipovichi.
Note, that television broadcasting at 1-meter wave frequency range will last in the Republic of Belarus till 17 June 2015, whereas TV channels used to transmit signals at Ch. 1-5 will not cease the transmission for the present.
