The reconstruction of the building of one of the largest Russian TV Centres Ostankino is expected soon, as Moskomstroyinvest informs on its official web-site.

Today the land area occupied by the building is near 130,000 m2.

In place of a clumsy building the reconstruction project provides for erecting a modern 8-floor building. Its area will be 95,000 m2. It is also planned to construct a checkpoint. The aggregate area of both buildings will total about 241 000 m2.

The updated TV Centre is planned to host a large-scale underground parking for near 600 cars. Another 1500 slots are provided for in a ground parking area.

As the head of Moskomstroyinvest affirms, the TV Center’s territory will be equipped with even two helicopter landing sites.

The construction of the TV Center’s building started in 1963 and ended in 1967. In the same period there was built the famous Ostankino Tower. Such TV channels as NTV, VID, Channel 1 and others operate in Ostankino. The TV Center suffered from fires twice – in 2005 and 2013.
