ATR and Lale resume satellite broadcasting

The Crimean Tatar TV channels of ATR Group Media holding resume their operation in Ukraine and start satellite broadcasting.

Mediasat previously reported about the press conference, devoted to the Crimean Tatar TV channels ATR and Lale, during which it became known about resuming operation of those channels in Ukraine.

The press conference was attended by Lenur Islyamov, the owner of ATR Group Media holding, Refat Chubarov, co-founder of ATR and the leader of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis and Sergey Kostinsky, advisor to the Minister of Information Policy.

We shall recall that the channels within ATR Group Media holding didn’t manage to obtain Roskomnadzor’s broadcasting license, which would allow them to broadcast from the Crimean peninsula, so on April, 1 they suspended their operation.

Lenur Islyamov, the owner of ATR Group Media holding, informs that ATR and Lale will broadcast via the satellite Astra A4 (4,8°E) from now, since the channels already have a license, issued by the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council.

Islyamov declares they have made all efforts to resume operation in the Crimea, but they proved unsuccessful. Therefore there was considered an option of operating in Ukraine. And it was implemented. He also points out that ATR viewing grid hasn’t undergone and won’t undergo any changes.

We shall recall that the TV channel started webcasting in May.

  • Frequency 12284 MHz,
  • Vertical polarization,
  • Symbol Rate 27500 Ms/s, FEC-3/4, DVB-S / QPSK / MPEG-2.
