The notorious Ukrainian provider Zeonbud notified TV channels about its new price offers for signal transmission in the digital terrestrial network.
Those new offers were presented by Alexander Ilyashenko, member of the National Broadcasting Council, during the roundtable of public media regulatory authorities of Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, held in the framework of the media forum Kiev Media Week, as reported by Telekritika.
On August 10, the provider forwarded new cooperation offers to the TV channels representing its partners. The offers inform that from now on the tariffs will be reduced in half. The discounts will be offered in a different way as well. For example, in August-September the channels will pay 12% less, and in October the amount will depend on the number of broadcasters in the network: once present all the 32 national channels, so the discount will be 42%.
We shall recall that the Zeonbud’s multiplexes actually have 29 among 32 national TV channels broadcasting, as Xsport and BTB suspended their operation.
Mr. Ilyashenko informed that for the time being 23 national broadcasters pay to Zeonbud for their signal transmission. For those who are indebted to the provider, the latter can offer an individual solution: payment in installments, debt restructuring or debt relief.
We shall recall that the case of the Zeonbud’s status finally upended on June 18: the Kyiv Administrative Court of Appeal established the case of the Antimonopoly Committee by recognizing the provider’s monopoly. So its activities and tariffs are state-regulated now.
As Mr Ilyashenko assured, starting from August the fee for the nationwide signal relay will be UAH 960 000 per month, and from October it will amount to UAH 710 000. If the broadcasting will be carried out by 32 channels, the amount will decrease up to UAH 640 000.
Zeonbud is also ready to improve and expand its digital network coverage to 95%, what was constantly claimed by the company before.
