The TV channel UATV will broadcast via three satellites.
Yurii Stets, the Minister of Information Policy, announced at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers the launch of the national foreign broadcasting platform on October 1 at 12:00, which was designed on the basis of the TV channels UTR and BTB, as well as the agency Ukrinform, as reported by Telekritika.
We shall recall that the TV channel of the National Bank of Ukraine BTB came into possession of the Ministry of Information Policy in March of the current year, and in June, the Government decreed to deliver possession of the channel UTR and the news agency Ukrinform to Mr. Stets’ Ministry as well.
According to Mr. Stets, the channel UATV will broadcast on five continents and via three satellites.
Mediasat reported before, that the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council at its meeting held on September 17 approved the change of name of the TV channel UTR to UATV.
Yurii Stets also pointed out that the full-scale run of the platform requires two voting of the Verkhovna Rada and the signing of the Law of Ukraine on Foreing Broadcasting by Petro Poroshenko.
