February 11, at its meeting the National Broadcasting Council barred content service providers from broadcasting 15 Russian TV channels. This is stated on the regulatory authority’s web site.

The Ukrainian providers can no longer rebroadcast in their networks the following TV channels: “KHL”, “Kitchen TV”, “Top Secret”, “Telecafe”, “Science 2.0”, “Who is Who”, “Real Scary Television” (“NST” ), “Auto plus”, “Chanson-TV”, “My planet”, “Fighter”, “Amusement park”, “Sarafan”, “World of Serials” and “Future: distant and nearest”.
As pointed out by Iurii Artemenko, Chairmen of the National Broadcasting Council, the content of the Russian channels violates the laws of Ukraine, and some of them are not signatories of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.
The decision was taken after examining the results of the TV channels’ airtime monitoring held in January 16-28, 2016. The National Council’s Resolution enters into force in a month.
We shall recall that at the last meeting held on January 21, the regulatory authority forbade rebroadcasting of the channel “Comedy TV”.
Iurii Artemenko, Chairmen of the National Broadcasting Council, informed that the reason for prohibiting such a large list of TV channels was, as before, the audio and video content with people put on the “black list” of the Ministry of Culture. It was also detected in the airtime of these channels the advertising banned in Ukraine.
Serhii Kostynskyi, Member of the National Broadcasting Council, recalled that the regulatory authority would go on monitoring airtime of the foreign TV channels, which did not join the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.
