As UzNews writes, the next year Uzbekistan will fully switch to digital TV. Today, 70 % of television audience can receive TV signal in digital format.
The transition process is carried out in accordance with the President’s decree No. ПП-1741 “On the State program of technical and technological switch to digital broadcasting in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
Implementation of the program “Development of terrestrial digital broadcasting networks of the Republic of Uzbekistan” will cost for the state at USD 73.63 million. In this decree there are also stipulated tax benefits and customs duties designed for organizations. Also, it is stated that the analog TV system will be gradually replaced by digital ones.
Earlier Mediasat has written that Azerbaijan intends to terminate analog TV broadcasting before the end of this year.
