The “Group of Three” was accused of illegal broadcasts of the Channel One, but the operators deny charges, as “Gazeta.Ru” reports.

The allegedly illegal broadcasts of the Channel by leading operators were made public by Pavel Bulavinov, Head of the Internet Broadcasting Directorate of the Channel One, during the Russian Interactive Week Conference. According to him, VimpelCom, MegaFon and MTS broadcast TV channel in their network applying a freemium model, without any due notification of the management of the “Channel One” and without any authorization.

The speaker pointed out that Channel One was not eager to go to court and would like to settle the issue amicably, if possible.

“Our patience is wearing out”, as he stated, adding that companies like MEGOGO and “Rostelecom” chose another way, dealing with legal broadcasts of the channel.

At the same time, the “Group of Three” denies charges with illegal broadcasts of the Channel One. Thus, the speaker of “MegaFon” Julia Dorokhina claims that the company operates under the cable TV license, adding that the operator maintains a constructive dialogue with market players.

“To agree the broadcasting format, MTS held additional negotiations with the Channel One in August of present year, and received a written confirmation from the channel’s representatives that broadcasts via the “MTS TV” application were consistent”, as stated by the MTS’ speaker.

The “VimpelCom” Company came up with argument that the applicable legislation decrees that the public content can be distributed on any resource.
