1+1 Media Goes into Distributing Viacom channels in Ukraine

1+1 Media Group became the exclusive distributor of the Viacom International Media Networks’ channels in Ukraine.

1+1 Media Group and the Viacom International Media Networks signed an exclusive agreement for distributing a package of leading international children’s, family, youth, and music channels in the pay-TV networks all over Ukraine. These are channels like Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon HD, Nick Junior, VH1 European, VH1 Classic, MTV, MTV Hits, MTV Dance, MTV Rocks, and MTV Live HD.

From 1 January, 2017, 1+1 Media will officially represent the VIMN Company in Ukraine to sign license agreements for distributing signal of the above TV channels in the providers’ networks on its behalf.

The VIMN portfolio in Ukraine will incorporate 10 TV channels like Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon HD, Nick Junior (children’s and family), as well as MTV, MTV Dance, MTV Hits, MTV Rocks, MTV Live HD, VH1 European, VH1 Classic (youth and music).

Elena Balmont, Vice President and General Manager at VIMN Russia, CIS, Ukraine and Baltic, emphasizes that “The cooperation with one of the largest Ukrainian media holdings is the most important strategic step to expand the reach of VIMN brands, and I am sure that further joint actions will contribute significantly to the business development both for us, and for 1+1 Media Group”.

Andriy Malchevkyi, Head of Broadcasting Network Distribution and Development Department at 1+1 Media, comments on the agreement as follows: “The Cooperation between our companies brings a synergistic effect and enhances content offer of 1+1 Media and VIMN. The offered package of 18 TV channels covers most of the thematic niches, to be most in demand of service providers in terms of content filling. We are about to go on cooperating, and we have been negotiating for new joint projects”.
