In Donbass, the TV tower on Mount Karatchoun resumed its operation. It will provide coverage with signal of Ukrainian channels and radio stations throughout the Donetsk Region.
Yesterday, the TV tower on the mountain Karatchoun near the town of Slavyansk in the Donetsk Region resumed its operation. This was made public by Pavlo Zhebrivskyi, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military-Civil Administration.
According to him, there were started works to install transmission facilities in Pokrovsk. He also added that after installing all the transmitters, the entire territory of the Donetsk region would be provided with coverage of Ukrainian TV and radio channels.
The opening of the reconstructed TV tower was also attended by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. According to him, the broadcasts from Mount Karatchoun would ensure “an increase in coverage by dozens of times”.
Let us recall that in the summer of 2014, the TV tower on Mount Karatchoun near Slavyansk crashed. Later on, the BRT Concern accused militants of the construction crash. In late August 2014, it was installed a temporary tower on Mount Karatchoun to provide TV and radio broadcasting.
