Ukraine Bans Pirate Online Cinema Baltazar

Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office №3 and the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine stopped the operation of the pirate online resource baltazar.org.ua, the holders of which have long violated the copyrights of the world-known companies affiliated to the Motion Picture Association.
During the search at the premises located in Desnyanskiy District of the capital, it was confiscated a server that stored illegal content and other evidence of criminal activity, as the Mediasat’s reporter was informed by the press unit of the Kyiv Prosecutor’s office.
“At present, the pirate site’s operation is blocked. The confiscated equipment remains under seizure, sentenced by the Desnyanskiy District Court at the request of the local prosecutor’s office. The pretrial investigation under article 176 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (copyright violation) is underway”, as the press unit specifies.
At of this writing, the visitors of baltazar.org.ua can see an announcement as follows: At the moment, the site is blocked by the hosting administrator”. Among the possible blocking motives it is indicated the “end of the hosting paid period”. And there is no mentioning copyright violation.
