As of the beginning of this year, Ukraine accounted for 470,800 subscribers to satellite TV services.

The data, published by the State Statistics Service, show a fivefold increase in the number of such subscribers, against 1 April 2016, when there were 90,400 of them.

The growth in the IPTV sector looks even more impressive: over the same period, the number of subscribers of these services has increased from 16,600 to 540,900.

On the other hand, the number of subscribers to cable TV services has grown slightly over the same period, i.e. from 2,625,700 to 2,930,200.

It is curious that the number of subscribers to cable TV networks reached its climax of 3,419,600 by October 1, and three months later it dropped to 2,930,200. In the cable TV sector, the figures of digital services also slightly decreased, i.e. from 805,300 (1 April 2016) to 755,400 (1 January 2017).

Over the same period, the number of subscribers to Internet access services increased from 14,203,200 to 16,723,000. At that, the number of fixed Internet users increased from 4,898,100 to 5,013,200.

According to the Association of Rights Holders and Content Providers (APPK), the revenue of cable operators increased from UAH 1,545 billion to UAH 1,589 billion last year.

At the same time, the income in the sector of Internet access services increased from UAH 6,130 billion to UAH 6,477 billion, over the same period.
