NTV-PLUS completely switched to MPEG-4

NTV-Plus satellite operator has completed switching of broadcasting their TV channels from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4. This allowed to free satellite capacity and improve the package proposal, as well as increase the number of TV channels in HD quality. The press service of the operator informed Mediasat on that.

Since September, 19 all the NTV-PLUS TV channels broadcasting is in MPEG-4 format. These TV channels are available if the format is supported by the equipment and access card. The operator offers a receiver or conditional access module at a special price for the subscribers who want to update their equipment.

As a reminder, the program of switching the TV channels broadcasting to  MPEG-4 was launched by NTV-PLUS in March 2016. Completion of the first phase of the transition to MPEG-4 was announced by the operator announced in late June 2016.

By the end of this year NTV-PLUS is planning to introduce a new hybrid set-top box.
