The “NTV-Plus” launched its application “NTV-PLUS TV” for Apple TV media set-top boxes. This was announced to the Mediasat reporter by the operator’s press office.
The release allows connecting “NTV-PLUS” online TV and watching over 180 TV channels thanks to the Apple TV set-top box. The press service specified that owners of media set-top boxes by Apple would be able to subscribe to the packages “Poznavatelniy” (Educational), “Kino” (Cinema), “Detskiy” (Children’s), “Supersport”, “Supersport. Premium”, and “Nash Futbol” (Our Football).
Most channels support the Catch Up function, i.e. access to the archive of TV shows within 24 hours, it is also possible to rewind and put broadcasts on pause. The design and navigation of that new app are simple and intuitive: when developing them, the same approach was taken as in iOS and Android apps.
According to experts, the “apple” company’s fans form part of the most solvent audience of paid TV, and the number of Apple TV users in Russia has been steadily growing. The new digital product is capable to increase the subscriber base of “Online TV NTV-PLUS” by 10-15 percent. The later releases of the Apple TV app will grant access to watch sports broadcasts (video on demand), to get highlights with a free archive, as well as to look through the library of TV series “AMEDIATEKA Home of HBO”.
Moreover, for the “NTV PLUS” satellite subscribers using Apple TV it will be implemented an option to connect the service “Online TV” (Multiscreen), which will allow them to watch TV channels according to their satellite subscription.
The “NTV-PLUS TV” app was designed for the fourth-generation set-top boxes Apple TV and the eleventh-version operating system.
