At its last meeting held on October 26, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine announced the deadline for full transiting to the digital broadcasting. This is stated on the official website of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection (Gosspetssvyaz).

Oleg Chernysh, Deputy Chairman of the National Council, stated that June 30, 2017 appears in the document as the exact deadline for the analog broadcasting cut-off and the final transition to the digital TV in Ukraine.

As the Goskomsvyaz announces, the plan for transiting to the digital TV, adopted by the government, consists of a list of commitments and tasks for governmental agencies, research institutions and enterprises.

The expected results of coordinated actions are as follows: to ensure television transiting from the analog format to the digital one, to provide digital signal coverage of the whole Ukrainian territory and to improve the country’s information security.

The Goskomsvyaz also emphasizes that transiting to the digital television in Ukraine is one of the country’s commitments under the agreement “Geneva 2006”.
