Ukrainian Telecom Market Faces Stagnation

The Ukrainian telecom market will be falling within four years, as the Liga.Biznes informs, referring to the analytics center Pyramid Research.

The company’s analysts conducted studies, which evidence that the average annual dynamics in local currency would show a negative result of -0.7%. Totally, the telecom market revenue reached UAH 40.7 billion in the expiring year.

“The market revenue in US dollars is expected to decline until 2021. The mobile data transmission revenue will grow by an average of 3.7% in local currency, and in 2021 it will reach UAH 7.2 billion (USD 256 million)”, as the company’s report states.

The experts assert that the proportion of mobile Internet in subscriber’s average bill will increase only in 2021, i.e from actual 21% up to 26.1%.

In the meanwhile, according to experts’ anticipations, the next four years would evidence an active growth of fixed VoIP, with an average annual growth rate of 8.2% in local currency. At that, the broadband Internet would also show a gradual growth with an average annual figure of around 3.9%.

“The Ukrainian telecom market would be commanded by two operators like Kyivstar and Vodafone Ukraine (MTS). The operators would focus on expanding 3G, packaged bundles and data-based services to reinforce their market power”, as the Pyramid Research’s experts forecast.
